Danyal Is Speaking in Fuller Sentences

I want to share something personal this month, because it's the kind of thing that made me build this app in the first place: Danyal's spoken sentences have noticeably improved since he started using TalkThisWay.ai every day.

He uses the app in two ways - he reads the sentences it generates, and he uses the speak function to hear them out loud. Over the past few months, I've noticed that when he verbalizes on his own, without the app in front of him, his sentences are longer, more complete, and just... better formed than they used to be.

It's not just me noticing it, either. Other people in his life - family, people who see him regularly - have mentioned it unprompted. That's what makes me confident this isn't wishful thinking on a proud dad's part.

A Trip to London

This summer, Danyal and I went back to London - our hometown. Danyal, his brother Zain, and I were all born there, and this trip was about visiting my parents, Danyal's grandparents, and showing him our old streets again.

I noticed the same pattern up close: asking for things, describing what he wanted to do next, telling me what he liked about the day - in fuller sentences than he would have used a year ago. It wasn't the app doing the talking. It was him, having had a lot of practice with what a full sentence sounds like.

Tips: Getting Sharper Sentences from My Words

A few people have asked how to get more natural, more specific sentences out of TalkThisWay Mode. Here's what's worked well for us.

Add context words for the things that actually come up in your life. The AI understands what kind of word it's looking at - a person, a place, an object - and uses that to shape the sentence. The more relevant names, places, and objects you have saved in My Words, the more specific and natural your sentences become.

Add My Words phrases exactly the way you'd actually say them. This is the one I'd really encourage you to try. If you call the park down the street "the park on Lakeshore," add that whole phrase to My Words - not just "park." If you call someone "Auntie Hina," add "Auntie Hina" - not just "Hina." The AI will figure out that it's a place or a person from how you've phrased it.

The more precisely My Words matches how you'd actually say something, the less the AI has to guess.

What's Next: A Better Sentence Generation Engine

Right now, sentence generation in TalkThisWay.ai runs on one underlying AI model. We're actively evaluating a different AI model to see whether it produces more natural, more accurate sentences for the way our users actually communicate.

This is exactly the kind of change I don't want to make in a vacuum. If you've used TalkThisWay Mode enough to have opinions - good or bad - about the sentences it generates, I want to hear about it. Specific examples are the most useful: what context words you entered, what sentence came back, and whether it said what you meant.
